Collective Leadership Works Events

NYLC's 21's Annual National Service-Learning Conference, March 24-27, 2010, San Jose, CA

The Innovation Center will be hosting an exhibit at the 21st Annual National Service-Learning Conference.  We'll be sharing information about how collective leadership can bolster community-based service-learning, as well as project details from our Collective Leadership Works initiative.

Learning Group Meeting, December 11-13, 2009, Sells, AZ

Youth and adult teams from all three project sites gathered in Tucson and Sells, Arizona for Collective Leadership Works' first Learning Group Meeting.  Tohono O'odham Community Action graciously hosted the event, and one of the meeting's many highlights included a tour of the Tohono O'odham nation, a lunch of native Tohono O'odham foods, and an evening celebration with the community.  Over the course of the meeting participants learned from each other how their peers in the initiative are implementing collective leadership and service-learning in their own communities, and had the opportunity to share their own work.  We reflected on our successes and upcoming challenges, and planned for future work.
